Dinner Reception Sarawak Tourism Board

On Monday night, 15th August 2022, MAH Board members were invited to a wonderful Dinner Reception hosted by the Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) at the Hilton Kuching Hotel.

The guest of honor for the dinner was the Premier of Sarawak YAB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg. The Premier touched upon issues pertinent to the hospitality industry, shared his visions for Sarawak tourism prospects and the type of tourists Sarawak needed to capitalize on.

In her dinner speech, MAH President Christina Toh extended her gratitude for the lovely reception STB had hosted for MAH. She also expressed her sincere appreciation to the Premier for all the effort and initiative his administration had done to advance Sarawak Tourism industry; benefits which, in turn, also greatly benefits the hotels in the state.

Notable attendees to the event included the Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Permanent Secretary at Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Hii Chang Kee, STB chairman Dennis Ngau, STB Chief Executive Officer Sharzede Datu Salleh Askor, Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak) CEO Amelia Roziman and many others.

About the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH)

Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) is the umbrella body for hotels in Malaysia formed in 1974 and initially established by a group of concerned and dedicated hoteliers to bring about a more dynamic hospitality industry aimed at building a workforce of highly skilled, innovative and disciplined individuals.
