Healing Through Music

Subang Jaya A total of RM126,887.58 was raised from the recent Malaysian Association Hotels 19th Charity Jam Session 2018. Hosted by MAH Selangor Chapter together with Holiday Villa Hotel & Conference Centre, this was supported by Rotary Club of Metro Kuala Lumpur , The Malaysian Food and Beverage Executives Association (MFBEA), The Society of The Golden Keys of Malaysia, Navigreat, HorecaBid Sdn Bhd, CT Wide Services (M) Sdn Bhd, JP Hann Resources, MY Classic Cars, Buddies Network (M) Sdn Bhd, organized  the 19th Charity Jam Session 2018 in aid of Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of University Malaya Medical Centre, Food Aid Foundation (FAF) and Saluting Her Endeavour (S.H.E) which was held on Sunday, 8th July 2018 from 2pm – 1am at Victorian Ballroom Holiday Villa Hotel & Conference Centre, Subang.

 

Food and beverages was supplied by Carlsberg, Cyberview Resort & Spa, Hotel Armada Petaling Jaya, Dorsett Grand Subang, The Pearl Kuala Lumpur, Grand Seasons Hotel, The Federal Kuala Lumpur, Dorsett Kuala Lumpur, Dorsett Putrajaya, Ambon Boenda Sdn Bhd, Chef on Wheels, D'Tandoor Food Industries Sdn Bhd, Kacang Macha,  Saudi Cold Storage, Three Horses Malt, F&N Beverage Sdn Bhd, Vestey Foods (M) Sdn Bhd, Marine Gold Marketing Sdn Bhd, Nelson's Franchise (M) Sdn Bhd, The Daily Grind, German Delicatessen Sdn Bhd, AryztaFood Solutions (M) Sdn Bhd, Pok Brothers Sdn Bhd, Allied Food Service Equipment Sdn Bhd, FDP Marketing Sdn Bhd, Profresh Sdn Bhd, MOMAwater Sdn Bhd, Xin Yuan Sdn Bhd, Dionysus Asia Sdn Bhd, BGR Foodservice Sdn Bhd and Zheng Food (M) Sdn Bhd

 

Live band performers were the heart of the day for the guests. DJ Soya and top local band such as Roofieology, Jetliners, Karisma, Sensations, Vishnu & USJ Jammerz, Vatos Locos, Amirta Soon, Kuroneko, Bloody Mary, Mad Sally, Elements, Sahara Yacob, Sharin Band, Lords and the Boys, Stag, Vernon & Friends, K-Oz rocked the stage. Music fans had a great time and got the opportunity to trip down memory lane during the jam session.

 

“We are pleased to announce that we managed to collect more than last years from generous individuals and companies who supported the event. We hope that the Charity Jam Sessions have been a great help to build the community and that it should be exemplified by other industries too, to give continuous support to the needy”. “We believe that hospitality should be accessible to everyone, and the MAH Charity Jam Session is one of the initiatives that have allowed us to reach the community at all levels. We welcome and urge all Malaysians to support us all in the name of fun and charity!” said Mr. Cheah Swee Hee, President of Malaysian Association of Hotels.

 

MAH 19th Charity Jam Session 2018 is an entertainment packed event which consists of about 17 local bands which performed exceptionally on the day. Guests were served with mouth-watering food and exciting activities throughout the jam session, such as lucky draws with great prizes. Some of the guests beamed with delighters when they won complimentary hotel meals and accommodation vouchers during the lucky draws and Dutch auctions.

 

“It has been a great journey running this event and having this incredible platform to do good for our beneficiaries, for the promotion and exposure of our local music bands to perform and rock the crowd as well as showcase the culinary skills of our MAH Members. Together we hope to make an impact for our society and to foster a greater sense of awareness for the less fortunate.” Said Mr. S.S Rajaa, the Organising Chairman of the MAH 19th Charity Jam 2018.

 

Datin Jasmine Abdullah Heng, the Chairperson of MAH Selangor Chapter commented: ' Charity is very close to our hearts at the MAH Selangor Chapter. We have been very active in organizing many CSR events at MAH Selangor but this, I must say is the epitome of all the charity events that we had.  With the commitment of our Organising Chairman, SS Rajaa and the support of all our generous partners & hoteliers, I am pleased indeed that this Charity Jam was the most successful one ever.   We not only achieved our objective of raising a substantial amount for the needy but also created a platform for the local artists to show case their talents as well as served as a platform for the hospitality industry colleagues to network & have fun at the same time. About the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH)

Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) is the umbrella body for hotels in Malaysia formed in 1974 and initially established by a group of concerned and dedicated hoteliers to bring about a more dynamic hospitality industry aimed at building a workforce of highly skilled, innovative and disciplined individuals.
