BRINGING TOGETHER MALAYSIA’S
HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY UNDER ONE ROOF
14 MAY 2026, KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysian Association of
Hotels (MAH) successfully concluded MAH Hospitality Week 2026 today at Berjaya
Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
Held from 13 to 14 May 2026, the two-day
industry event brought together hoteliers, suppliers, tourism stakeholders,
thought leaders, and hospitality professionals through multiple
major programmes under one roof. Thousands attended what became
one of the country’s largest hospitality industry gatherings of the year.
Designed as a collaborative platform for the industry, MAH Hospitality
Week 2026 focused on strengthening business connections, encouraging
innovation, and supporting industry resilience amid ongoing challenges faced by
the hospitality sector.
1. Hospitality
Suppliers Expo (13–14 May)
The Hospitality Suppliers Expo featured close to 100 hospitality brands showcasing products, services, technologies, and solutions for the hotel
industry. Participating exhibitors represented Malaysia, Singapore, China, Hong
Kong, and Indonesia.
The expo featured hospitality suppliers, technology innovators, F&B
equipment providers, and guest experience specialists, alongside a smart
business matching system aimed at connecting buyers with relevant suppliers.
Over the two days, the exhibition floor saw strong visitor traffic, with
attendees engaging in networking sessions, business discussions, and
partnership opportunities.
2. MAH 52nd
National Annual General Meeting (AGM) (13 May)
On 13 May 2026, MAH held its 52nd Annual
General Meeting (AGM), attended by hundreds of members and hotel industry
leaders.
The AGM reviewed the association’s achievements over the past year while
outlining future plans and priorities for the hospitality sector.
3. MAHTEC-UiTM Executive Diploma
Graduation Ceremony and Rebranding Announcement (13 May)
Following the AGM, MAH’s training arm held the graduation ceremony for
the first MAHTEC-UiTM Executive Diploma in Hospitality Management 2025 cohort.
Since its introduction in 1995, the Executive Diploma programme has
served as a professional development platform for hospitality practitioners.
Through the collaboration with Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), the programme
now integrates academic expertise and guest lecturers alongside MAHTEC’s
industry-driven curriculum.
A total of 14 graduates completed the programme, which includes nine certification training
series covering key hospitality functions.
The ceremony was attended by hotel leaders, UiTM faculty representatives,
and invited guests.
During the event, MAHTEC also
officially announced its rebranding to MAH Learning & Development to better align with the MAH brand and strengthen its industry
positioning.
4. MAH Gala
Dinner & Awards Night 2026 (13 May)
The MAH Gala Dinner &
Awards Night 2026 welcomed more than 500 guests, including government
representatives, tourism associations, hotel executives, and industry leaders.
The event was officiated by Tourism Malaysia Chairman, YBhg. Datuk Manoharan
Periasamy and featured two awards presentation.

3rd Hotel Management Grand Prix 2026 Winners
The evening
featured the presentation of awards for the MAH Management Grand Prix (MGP),
organised in collaboration with Taylor's University and Russel Partnership
Technology.
Now in its third
edition, the competition is designed to develop future hospitality leaders
through a hotel management simulation programme.

7th Hotel Employee Awards Recipients
The climax of the
evening was the 7th edition of the MAH Hotel Employee Awards. This
prestigious accolade recognizes outstanding staff who exemplify the spirit of
hospitality through their dedication, commitment, and passion.
Finalists were
carefully selected to represent each MAH Chapter nationwide and underwent
rigorous interviews. From this process, only the most outstanding individuals
were crowned as National Champions of the Year. In recognition of the
exceptional talent showcased this year, an additional special award was
extended to include an additional winner this year.

This year’s National
Champion of the Year award was presented to Muhammad Izzat Mohd Noor of
Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas representing MAH Johor Chapter. He was recognised for his confidence
and strong intellectual foundation. Beyond technical capability, he stood out
for his leadership approach, consistently striving to enable his team to become
the best version of themselves. The judges also highlighted his humility and
work ethic, noting his willingness to start from the ground up and lead by
example, ensuring he understands every aspect of operations in order to guide
and support his team effectively.
A Special Award
for Heritage and Culture (Beyond Hospitality and Workplace) was presented
to Sebastian Anak Senin of The Waterfront Hotel Kuching representing MAH
Sarawak Chapter. He
was recognised for demonstrating a strong embodiment of his state’s cultural
values and heritage in his professional practice. Through his work, he actively
strives to showcase the warmth, authenticity, and high standards of hospitality
that his people are known for, translating cultural understanding into
meaningful guest experiences.

Leadership Conference 4.0 (14 May)
Officiated by YBrs. Ms Tan
Mei Phing, Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia Convention & Exhibition
Bureau (MyCEB), Hospitality Leadership Conference (HLC) 4.0 brought together
more than 250 delegates from across Malaysia’s hospitality sector.
The conference featured six esteemed
industry speakers who shared insights on
leadership, innovation, workforce development, technology, and current
challenges shaping the hospitality landscape. Continuing its role as a key
industry platform, HLC 4.0 fostered meaningful dialogue, knowledge exchange,
and collaboration among hospitality professionals and stakeholders.
