The
Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) through Tourism Malaysia had
launched the Tourism Recovery Plan 2022 (PRE2.0) for the Accommodation Cluster at
the Pavillion Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
PRE2.0 is actually
the continuation of the Economic Stimulus Package (PRE1.0), one of the initiatives
under the Tourism Industry Recovery Plan that seeks to boost domestic tourism as
it transitions to the endemic phase via the distributions of incentives such
discounts, vouchers and rebates.
Under the Accommodation
Cluster initiative, Malaysians have the opportunity to redeem e-vouchers worth
between RM50 to RM100 when they are booking rooms from participating hotels
through the Shopee app starting from the 15th of July all the way
until the end of this year which is the 31st of December 2022. Redemptions
are limited to only three times per MyKad holder. Over 33 000 malaysians are
expected to benefit from incentive.
President
Madam Christina Toh had attended the event as the representative of Malaysian Association
of Hotels (MAH), one of the accommodations involved in the initiative. Hotels
under MAH and Malaysian Association of Hotel Owners (MAHO) will offer
e-vouchers worth RM100 with a minimum purchase of a RM150 room for the first 19,900
buyers.
Other
notable associations participating in the event were Malaysian Budget and Business Hotel
Association (MyBHA) and Seri Malaysia Hotel Chain (HSM).
