On the 14th of July at the Sama-Sama
Hotel KLIA, after being appointed by Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran (JPK), MAH’s
Vice President Dato’ Khoo Boo Lim served as one of Jawatankuasa Teknikal
Penilaian Standard (JTPS) culinary industry assessment panelists for the National
Occupational Skills Standard (NOSS) in the field of Food
Preparation & Production Level 1 to 3.
JPK is a government agency that is given the
responsibility to make, promote and standardised competency trainings in line with
the national efforts to improve the level of worker’s competency in Malaysia. NOSS
was realised to help JPK meet their aspiration. NOSS is a standardized document
outlining the guidelines needed by a competent worker in a particular field at a
specific level in their career path. JTPS are made up of Industry Lead Body (ILB)
personnel in a particular field and are responsible for approving a proposed NOSS
so that the guidelines are actually in line with the industry’s needs, complete
and comprehensive as well as meeting MPPK regulation standard.
MAH as the accepted ILB was invited by JPK to
nominate a personnel to join the JTPS panels of industry experts to assess and provide an
input for the NOSS of Food Preparation & Production Level 1 to 3; the nominated personnel to represent MAH was Dato' Khoo Boo Lim, our Vice president.
