Microcredential Technical Working Committee (MCTWC) Initiative by HRD Corp

On the 9th of August,
MAH Vice President Ms. Shirley Lai had attended a Microcredential Technical
Working Committee (MCTWC) meeting held at Wisma HRD Corp in Kuala Lumpur.
Microcredentials are one of the
initiatives by Human Resources Development Corporation (HRD Corp) that are
expected to provide a more efficient approach to expand the skill sets of
employees in line with the National Aspirations to ensure that at least 35% of
the Malaysian workforce are highly skilled.
HRD Corp, in bid to implement
the microcredential initiative, have established a technical working committee to
address concerns so as to reach a mutual understanding with related parties on its
implementation mechanism and fees. MAH as an Industry Leading Body was appointed
by HRD Corp to be a part of their MCTW as one of the involved employer
associations. The meeting on the 9th August was the 3rd
meeting of the committee for the year 2022. Ms. Shirley was present and have
represented MAH for all the meetings.
About the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH)
Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) is the umbrella body for hotels in Malaysia formed in 1974 and initially established by a group of concerned and dedicated hoteliers to bring about a more dynamic hospitality industry aimed at building a workforce of highly skilled, innovative and disciplined individuals.
