Le Meridien Petaling Jaya – The highly anticipated opening event of the year, MAH Hospitality Leadership Conference (HLC) concluded with great success on May 25th 2023. The conference, organized by the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH), brought together over 250 attendees most of which are high-level hoteliers and senior leaders from the hospitality and its related industry. The Honorable Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia, YB Dato Sri Tiong King Sing attended the event as its Guest of Honour and officially launched the conference.

HLC served as an important platform to discuss key topics critical to the success of the current landscape of the hospitality industry such as effective leadership, sustainability, and innovative technology adoptions. By convening industry leaders and experts to discuss these issues, MAH hopes that it will contribute to the industry's success and shape its future trajectory for the better.

The conference featured the following three tracks:

1.     Rethinking Leadership in Hotel Industry

This track explores the current landscape of the industry in the aftermath of the pandemic. How hoteliers can better navigate these emerging complex challenges with effective leadership and best practices.

2.     ESG opportunities and impacts to hotels and it transition prospects

This track focused on the immense potential and impacts of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) considerations on the hotel industry. During this track, the various facets of ESG and its transformative potential within the hotel sector were explored.

3.     Future of Tourism

This track, delved into the future of tourism and explore the latest digital trends, emerging technologies, and innovative approaches that are reshaping the future of hotels.

Nine esteemed speakers were featured in HLC with three experts leading each of the conference’s tracks. This mix of local and international speakers brought with them extensive experience and expertise of their own subject matter to the conference, enriching the discussions and providing valuable insights to the attendees.

The event was capped off with a nice evening of Networking Cocktail providing the attendees excellent opportunities to make contact with their peers in a more relaxing setting after a day of exchanging ideas.

About the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH)

Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) is the umbrella body for hotels in Malaysia formed in 1974 and initially established by a group of concerned and dedicated hoteliers to bring about a more dynamic hospitality industry aimed at building a workforce of highly skilled, innovative and disciplined individuals.
